Legal Counsel
We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join the Mobility Legal team based in Euston, London. The successful candidate will proactively provide advice and support for the Rail Electrification and Traffic Solutions businesses,.
What are my responsibilities?
- Demonstrating a willingness to develop an in-depth understanding of the businesses undertaken by the Mobility Division (particularly Rail Electrification and Traffic Solutions) and the key drivers of all stakeholders
- Provide support to the relevant sales, procurement and tendering teams, reviewing customer terms and conditions and advising on risk profiles prior to submission of tenders or in the early stages of customer engagement
- Mitigate risk by improving the awareness and understanding of legal issues affecting business partners by providing training and advising on process and systems improvements to enable better risk management
- Draft and negotiate the agreement of customer terms and conditions
- Support the business in developing strategies for, and resolving, major claims and disputes
- Supporting the procurement activity in respect of major projects
- Develop template legal documents, Q&A and other materials to enable the legal team to operate as effectively and efficiently as possible
- Co-operating with colleagues in Germany and other jurisdictions with respect to knowledge sharing, English law advice and working on global initiatives
- Participate in legal team projects and initiatives to improve efficiency and drive excellence and engagement across the Legal team
What do I need to qualify for the role?
- English law qualification preferred, legal qualification from another jurisdiction will be considered
- Relevant experience and expertise in the key activities outlined above in a common law jurisdiction
- Previous experience in a law firm or large corporate environment
- Experience of advising on, and working with both standard form and bespoke contracts
- Ability to deal confidently and build strong relations with senior business colleagues
- A flexible attitude and an ability to multi-task
- The ability to build relationships with multinational teams
- Possess strong English written and verbal communication skills
- Highly motivated, analytical and professional
