An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of NHS Professionals Limited IT Team based in Watford.
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager you will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the NHS Professionals technology infrastructure.
The primary responsibility of this role is to advise the Technical Services Manager on elements of the information technology infrastructure, security and recovery and operational issues. Occasionally the post holder will be expected to make critical technical decisions based on risk and benefit so as to ensure business service continuity. You will participate in agreed technical projects, helping to produce structured plans and advising on appropriate technical strategies, which deliver operational benefit to the business. As well as collaborating in technical decision-making across the span of IT activities, and related technical, support and applications services.
Objectives of the role
- Provide 2nd/3rd Level technical support to IT Service Teams on all technical issues.
- Day to day involvement of all internal and external IT Support issues.
- Contribute to the analysis, design, procurement, implementation and on-going support and maintenance of NHSP infrastructure solutions.
- Build and implementation of IT infrastructure to support business operations at NHSP 3rd Party Business Continuity location.
- Work stream delivery of technical solutions in support of commercially led projects to IT and the business.
- Maintaining SLA’s with internal Business customers. Reporting monthly service achievements against the SLA’s
- Monitoring and ensuring delivery of Service Level Agreements (SLA) for suppliers external to the business
- Working with the IT Infrastructure and Support Services Team requires an acceptable level of technical skills across all related disciplines.
- Identify and provide guidance on standards and best practice procedures for the delivery of IT Infrastructure and Support Services
With substantial experience in a technical IT implementation and support team, you should have Citrix Certification (CCA) and VMware Certification (VCP). In addition, you will have a proven track record in deploying various size technology projects, and good working knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems specifically Windows 2003/2008/2012 desktop and/or server.
Please note, this position participates in an on-call rota of 1 week in every 6 weeks.
