Work Experience

I have worked with the visually impaired for 8yrs who also had learning disabilities, my job role was to support with personal care. Support in the community with daily shopping, in house activities, arts and crafts baking music, and parties, I had to keep their daily records in order plan holidays and communicate with the families and other professionals. I left this job after 8 yrs as I felt I needed a Change, and more of a challenge. I also didn't like the way the company was running and had spoken to my manager several times concerning issues I had but they fell on deaf ears, so I made the depiction I didn't want to be part of a company who was not putting the service users first and keeping them safe. I moved to a company Calle d HEathcotes in Jan 2015, it is a 6 bed home for adults with severe challenging behaviour and learning disabilities. I started of as a support worker . Then after 6 months became an acting team leader, then after 4 months became a team leader, my role as steam leader is run a shift with 4 staff under me, planning the shift for the day teaming up staff with the appropriate service user. A also doing any jobs asked of me by my manager, making sure their health action plans are up to date, also risk assessments daily hangovers are all done correctly, I was also in charge of the money booking in and out and doing balance checks at end of shifts, also ordering medication and then booking it in on arrival, I have attended meetings with physciatris ,GPs , families and other health professionals.

Interests

I have 3 grandchildren so they keep me busy, I like to go to the cinema . Eating out. Day trips and family holidays. I also enjoy reading a good book. I like to bake I find this is very relaxing. I am fun to be around very friendly. I can work on my own or as part of a team. I am reliable mans punt tubal who will go that extra mile to make some one. I care about all people and try to do my best for everyone
